navy & leopard

(micro-mesh button-up from American Apparel, denim shorts from Forever 21, leopard booties from Deena & Ozzy)

I wore this to a lunch date with some of my high school friends (specifically, some of my varsity tennis teammates!). Sharing college stories over a Mediterranean pizza and three mini pizookies is always a great way to spend the afternoon.

Also, I apologize for the infrequent posts lately! I’ve just returned from winter break and it’s been hectic adjusting to college life again. Recently, however, I’ve spent time clarifying my blog goals and schedule, so I will post more frequently from now on. Cheers to 2012!

Happy New Year’s Eve! 2011 was a pretty spectacular (and crazy) year for me. I went through a lot of emotional turmoil this year, but in the process, I learned a lot about myself and the things that are truly important in life. In addition, I finally decided to (wo)man up and cut my hair and get an asymmetrical bob (evidence here), got accepted to Berkeley, gave up one of my childhood dreams, graduated from high school, started my first semester of college, finally had the guts to start this blog, turned eighteen, read a billion books, and ended my year with a plethora of midterms, papers, and finals.

Most importantly, I have come to realize that I am truly blessed to have all that I own, that I have more than I need (in terms of the tangible and the intangible), and that life is pretty amazing.

I wore this to a coffee and reading date with my best friend at Paris Baguette, where I enjoyed a coffee latte. It’s been a very warm and comforting holiday break spending time with family and friends whom have returned from college. I hope next year will be as wonderful as this year has been!

Turning 18 today. The first few hours of my day consisted of phone calls from my friends on the East Coast whom I haven’t spoken to in months, a surprise visit and salted caramel cupcake from my girlfriends at Berkeley, a phone call from my wonderful boyfriend, and many, many fun Photobooth pictures. Definitely the start of a good day.

I sometimes reminisce about how I’ve changed in the past few years. I’m still young and I have a lot to learn, but I’m looking forward to what my future has in store for me.

stripes & floral

(striped shirt from Forever 21, floral crop top from Tres Bien, denim shorts from Forever 21, black zipper booties from Hypnotic, armor ring from Korea)

A casual, comfortable look I wore on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I balanced out the femininity of the floral crop top by pairing it with a loose button-up shirt and zipper booties, complete with straight, sleek black hair and smokey eyes.

This time I decided to post-process my photos in a way that emphasizes the contrast between the reds and blues of my look and the warm hues of the background. I dislike the chilly weather that Fall brings, but I absolutely adore the gorgeous color palette of autumn. Hopefully I’ll be able to incorporate those lovely gold, orange, and red shades into my future looks.

This is another look I shot for my first blog photoshoot. I thought my first photoshoot was mostly successfully, but there were many errors in technique and organization that I can improve on in the future. Hopefully, as I practice more, I’ll be able to refine my technique and organize my shoots better.

It’s almost November, but it’s still warm in California. I took advantage of the last remnants of sunny weather by wearing this summer ensemble. I look forward to delving into the fall season and what it entails—chunky knit sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, autumn leaves, muted colors, and so much more.

basics & leopard

(black dress from Forever 21, white blouse from Target, leopard wedges from Qupid)

My first outfit for my blog. I’ve had the aspiration of running a fashion blog for a while, but I’ve never had the audacity or motivation to get started. Upon going to college, I was inspired to take advantage of my newfound autonomy and pursue my goals. This blog is a written account of my attempt to realize both my aesthetic aspirations as well as my life ambitions.
